The AirCom series includes a range of two wall mounted and one mobile (model – ST) purifiers, these differ according to the UV-C lamp power and application. AirCom has an epoxy powder coated bearing structure in extruded aluminum sheet and a front cover with micro-holes, allowing air to enter and exit at both ends, making it pass through the TIOX® filter. The germicidal chamber houses the UV-C lamps and is built with a special very pure mirrored aluminum, which amplifies the disinfecting power of the lamps.

AirCom is ready for use and does not require any special
maintenance except for the periodic replacement of the lamps.

Food production facilities, commercial buildings, retail outlets etc. have different dimensions and the ventilation systems also differ in terms of design and technology. The specifications of the AirStream air disinfection module can be customised to a variety of different installation environments.

The modules are made of either galvanised sheet metal, stainless steel or aluminium, and can be easily integrated into air conditioning systems or other ventilation systems, either as retrofit solutions or in new projects.

An AirStream C module consists of a powerful fan that draws air in. Filter systems clean the air before it is treated with UV-C. Integrated light traps ensure that no UV-C light escapes. The compact and modular construction enables easy and secure installation in your production rooms.

UV-C – the most natural form of disinfection

The English researchers Downes and Blount discovered the anti-bacterial effect of UV-C light as early as 1877. The systems supplied by UV Technology exploit these natural effects today. UV-C light with a wavelength of 253.7 nm changes the germs’ genetic blueprint and the cell dies. There is no need for chemical or thermal treatment. UV-C light at 253.7 nm produces no ozone. A special interior coating of the quartz glass ensures an exceptionally long service life with minimal decline in radiative power.

The AirStream C air-conditioning module is a system solution for the effective disinfection of air in large rooms. As a self-contained module, it can be fitted e.g. under the room ceiling, in intermediate ceilings or on the wall. This enables air quantities of up to 50,000 m3/h to be disinfected economically.

Evaporator cooler disinfection – innovative solutions for the food industry and beyond Evaporator coolers have by their very nature a huge lamellar surface, which, of course, is not without risks. Perspiration water and dust particles with
organic constituents are deposited on them, thereby forming a perfect breeding ground for micro-organisms. Certain cold-tolerant micro-organisms are able to reproduce even at low temperatures. These are then carried in the flow of air into the cold storage room, where they come into contact with products, causing accelerated spoilage.

However, hygiene can be optimised by means of UV-C technology. The number of germs can be permanently reduced by using UV-C light with a wavelength of 253.7 nm. This wavelength has a lethal effect on all micro-organisms, such as bacteria, moulds yeasts and viruses. UVT uses low-pressure emitters that do not produce ozone to generate this shortwave UV-C light. These emitters exhibit a particularly high level of UV-C radiant efficiency. The primary light they emit yields a spectral line of almost exclusively 253.7 nm.

All lamps have a Teflon coating for insulation and protection against splintering. This thermal buffer also guarantees a high level of UV-C even at low operating temperatures. Devising tailor-made solutions is what we do every day. We look at what our customers require and respond with a functional solution. UV-C modules are produced for both compression and suction evaporator coolers. The modules are positioned directly in front of the air outlet. In the case of compression air coolers, the lamellae are also treated with germicidal UV-C light. Thanks to a special light trap on the outlet side of the module, which results in only a minimal loss in pressure, no dangerous UV-C light is able to escape.

UVT’s IP 65 UV-C compact lamp provides a particularly high degree of protection against dust and water. The use of UV-C compact emitters also allows excellent disinfection effects to be achieved, even within confined spaces. 253.7 nm UV-C light is used to reduce the number of germs. This wavelength has a lethal effect on micro-organisms such as bacteria, moulds yeasts and viruses. A special feature of this emitter is its coating with a protective Teflon film. If the glass breaks, the coating prevents splinters from falling onto the material underneath the emitter, or from entering the flow of air. The protective covering, which is cast in a ceramic holder, also provides protection against splashes and jets of water, thereby achieving compliance with protection class IP 65. The Teflon coating also has a thermal insulation effect, thus preventing a reduction in the radiant power when the lamp is used in cold conditions.

The contamination of equipment such as conveyor belts and cutting belts with micro-organisms during the work process is often unavoidable. When they come into contact with food these microorganisms often reduce the shelf life of the products, or they can even represent a health risk.

Surface disinfection by means of intensive UV-C light greatly reduces the risk and actively contributes to ensuring good hygiene.

UV-C light at a wavelength of 253.7 nm is used to reduce the number of germs. This wavelength has a lethal effect on microorganisms, such as bacteria, moulds and yeasts. The system can achieve a disinfection rate of up to 99.9
%, depending on the dose delivered.

Special low-pressure UV-C emitters serve to generate the short-wave UV-C light, which provides a high level of radiant efficiency. This physical process achieves optimum disinfection without using chemicals.

The positioning of the UV-C cassette in each case is determined depending on the local environment. Thanks to the breakage detector, the cassettes can be safely operated on any production line. A mounting frame enables simple installation of the UV-C cassettes under the conveyor belts. However, the compact design also enables the cassettes to be fitted in packaging, filling and sealing machines.
